OUR STORY

For Change is a non-governmental organization dedicated to decolonizing the environmental justice movement and improving climate change education in Trinidad and Tobago. Our founder, KD, created this organization with the intention of broadening the conversations surrounding climate change and environmental justice, building upon the decades of work and advocacy within the environmental justice system, and uniting people from all across the Caribbean in a collective fight for environmental and social justice.
For Change is guided by the principles of intersectional environmentalism, as we recognize that environmental issues are often connected to other social injustices happening to the marginalized communities within our country. Our goal is to educate the public on these intersections by amplifying the voices of these vulnerable communities. We hope that through this, we can cultivate an environmental justice movement within the Caribbean that advocates for the protection of both our people and the planet.
We firmly believe that education is the strongest tool to catalyze positive change within our country and region at large. When creating this organization, our founder noticed that climate change education centred on fear-mongering tactics and anxiety-inducing content. Therefore, her goal was to introduce climate and environmental education to the masses through fun, informative, and easily digestible content on social media. We hope our content can ignite collective proactivity in the fight against environmental and societal injustices.
At For Change, our team works tirelessly to ignite positive change in the world around us.
